Schools' 21st Music Festival

Capacity audiences enjoyed the 21st Music Festival by the five primary schools in the Stoke-Tahunanui area. The festival was held on two nights in the Nayland College Hall.

The senior combined schools, conducted by Mr G. Powell, perform the operetta, "Ahmet – The Woodseller"

To the strains of "Click Go the Shears, " these "sheep" were shorn. A convincing performance by Nayland School

The "Camptown Races" was well performed by Nayland School folk dancers

Dances from "Oliver" were performed, and songs sung, by the Stoke School

The Enner Glynn choir performed a rollicking version of the Negrospiritual, "Dry Bones"

A skilful performance came from the combined instrumental group

The Nayland School choir was accompanied by Mrs A. Knutson and conducted by Mr G. Powell

The Broadgreen Intermediate choral group gave a fine rendition of a Cossack lullaby
