Seatrans 50 - A Top Cycle Race

The Seatrans 50 mile Nelson road cycling championship appears to have a bright future and could become the most popular race of the distance in the north of the South Island. This year it was sponsored for the second time by Seatrans and again attracted a large number of visiting riders. The race was won by Paul Radburnd, 16, Avon, with former Nelson rider, Michael Strong, now of Port Nicholson-Poneke, second. Rob Reid, Avon, was third. Conditions were ideal.
