One-Man Art Exhibition

Toss Woollaston, one of New Zealand's foremost artists, held a one-man exhibition at the Suter Art Gallery last month, and his work attracted considerable attention. Woollaston, who is now living at Greymouth, began his artistic career in the Riwaka district in 1928, and such has been the merit of his painting that he quite recently received the latest of three scholarships. We have reproduced on this page four of his paintings, but in black and white they hardly do his work justice.
