Mini Moke the Road Marker
You might have seen this efficient little unit operating in the streets of Nelson. It's virtually a one-man-band and is one of the most compact roadmarking set-ups in the country. With all its attachments the Mini Moke is worth about $4500 but its beauty is that it can be operated by one man. The machine is owned by Permanent Markings, Wanganui, and was in Nelson at the expense of the City Council. The firm is the only one to have the machine in New Zealand.
This trolley, operated by Barry Dahm, is used for short sections and lettering. Driving the Moke is owner of the outfit, Lindsay McNicol
This guide wheel has the marking nozzle attached and as it's beside the driver it can be lowered and raised as required while the machine is on the move
Like a bee the roadmarking Moke carries its sting in its tail. Barry makes an adjustment to the pump motor
