Farewell To Alan Paterson

Popular Sports Commentator Leaves

Almost every sport was represented at the farewell for Mr and Mrs Alan Paterson.

Included among the 150 men and women were New Zealand representatives from 1914 to 1971, club and association officials and administrators.

Mrs Hilda Day, a national hockey representative in 1914 was present as was Nelson's newest national sportsman Rodney Dixon, a member of the New Zealand crosscountry team to the World Championships.

The function was held in the Celtic Rugby Club rooms.
