Bright Cricket Future
Nelson has a bright cricket future if the potential indicated in the South Island schoolboys' championship here is realised. Nelson A won the title after beating Canterbury in an exciting final and Nelson B won four of its five matches. Ideal weather prevailed for the tournament, held over five days at Stoke. Ten visiting teams competed. Powerful batting by Greg Scott, 70, paved the way for Nelson's win over Canterbury. Nelson declared at 6/167 and Canterbury was dismissed for 107.
