We call this the Pall Mall Patent Pate Patch. The hot sun burned the small patch of bare skin on this gent's head as he watched the final of the South Island schoolboys' cricket. So he foiled the sun with a packet of smokes

Shortly after this was snapped, this group of Venturer Scouts from Stoke set off on a 700-mile jaunt on tandems.
