A Remedy?

Similar scenes occurred in other parts of the country. Surely it is time our legislators came to grips with this problem. As we see it there is but one remedy-the total prohibition of the drinking of liquor on public streets. And a similar law prohibiting the taking of bottled liquor on to the beaches. We know it would be difficult to police. But no more difficult than the present system where the police, reviled, kicked, punched and made the target of obscenities, are expected to stand by and attempt to single out those who are smashing bottles and causing trouble. An almost impossible task in an area in which thousands of young people are milling around.
