All ready to provide stationery, Christmas cards and the like, are Janet Baker and Sharon Miller, shop assistants with R. W. Stiles and Co., Bridge Street. Both girls are single. Janet has been with the firm six months and came to Nelson from Dannevirke. Her interests are swimming and all outside activities. Sharon came to Nelson from Motueka 20 months ago. She was educated at Motueka High School. Her interests are varied - skin diving, she's an honorary ranger of the Abel Tasman National Park, and a keen tramper.

Phil Sparrow, an electrician with Norm Polglase Ltd., has been in the trade about four years. He was educated at Auckland and came to Nelson from Takaka. His interests: "Wine, women and song, " says Phil.

"Buster" Grooby has the right to say he's been framed. After all, it's his job, and has been for 30 years. He's a partner in the glazing and picture framing firm of the Nelson Glazing and Picture Framing Company. He's lived in Richmond all his life, still plays cricket (Richmond juniors) and in between times likes to potter.

Here's a couple of groovy blokes, cabinet-makers Robert Drabsch and Eric Gaskell, who work for Talbot Interiors. Robert is single (but only just) and came to Nelson from Australia when he was eight. He's been a cabinet-maker for six years and is interested in travelling, swimming and pottering about. Eric also is single and has lived in Nelson all his life. He's been in the trade for 27 years and with the firm for the last eight. Driving, swimming and gardening are his hobbies.
