Mr Brian Mills, newly-elected president of New Zealand Jaycee, began his new duties with a trip to Dublin for the world conference of J.C.I. Before he left Nelson airport, he was made a presentation by Mr Hanley Bowater, Nelson Jaycee president, on behalf of the chapter.

Another well-known Nelson Jaycee, Mr Sam Taylor, won the national Jaycee oratory contest at the New Zealand Jaycee national convention.

We received a note and this photograph recently from Glenys Biggs, formerly of Takaka (a daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Biggs), now working at the Repatriation General Hospital, Sydney. Nice to hear from you, Glenys. Glenys has been in Aussie 10 months and is to travel to England next month. She's a registered Community Nurse who trained in Nelson, and has many friends still here.

This year's concert by the pupils of Nelson College was the last in which Miss Alwyn Austin was able to take a part. Miss Austin, tutor of the violin on the college music staff for the last 26 years, retires at the end of the school term. She is seen here with some of her pupils.
