Marlborough Win's

The Marlborough women's representative team had a good 2-1 win over Nelson in a fixture at the Botanies during Queen's Birthday weekend. The Marlborough defence, a very experienced and well-knit combination, played havoc with the Nelson defence. But, except for two occasions, the defence held. The Nelson attack seldom showed the cohesion of the Marlborough side, and when the pressure was on in the second half the Marlborough defence was seldom tested to the full.
