Meet a couple of wiry blokes, Owen Peters and Ray Lequesne, both employees at Hurricane Wire Products, Haven Road. Owen, who is married, with five daughters, worked for Hurricane in Christchurch and came to Nelson 3 years ago when the factory was established here. Since coming here he has taken up the popular Nelson sport of pig hunting and follows all sport. Ray has been with Hurricane only two months. He's single and does a little gardening in his spare time.

Here are a couple of lassies from Lancashire who came to New Zealand two years ago. Meet Claire Lomax and Mary Herron. They're sisters, and almost inseparable. Both are married, Claire with a son, and Mary with two girls and a boy. Both are keen on swimming and outdoor life and plenty of walking ("keeps you fit" they said).

John Coull, a painter with the City Council Reserves Department, is married, with one daughter. He came to Nelson from Wanganui two years ago. His main interest at the moment is getting into top shape a home he has bought in the Maitai Valley.

The happy faces of Frank McKinley and Robert Winter, glaziers with Smith and Smith. Frank, foreman of the department, is single and has been with the firm 7 years. He came from Westport 16 years ago. Gardening and "mucking about with cars" are two of his hobbies. Robert is an apprentice. He was educated at Nelson College. He plays indoor bowls and collects coins and stamps.

Barbara Ryder is receptionist at the photographers, Kingsford and Baigent. She is married and was educated at waimea College. She's been with the firm 3 years and likes sewing and cooking.
