He's got a family of 6 and came to Nelson from Christ-church 20 years ago. Both he and Gordon served overseas with the 20th Armoured Regiment. Leo's main leisure pursuits are gardening and serving the community through the St.John Ambulance Brigade. Gordon, also, is married, and has spent the last 16 years on the Nelson wharves. He came to Nelson from Blenheim 22 years ago. Indoor bowls, darts and athletics are his main leisure interests.

One of Nelson's most important citizens is Bruce Rollo, a locksmith with T. Stewart and Sons. Locks, safes and security systems hold no mysteries for him. He served his apprenticeship as a fitter and turner and marine engineer, and is Nelson's only certified locksmith. Bruce is married and has four children. He was educated in Nelson and has been with the firm six years. His interests include youth work (with the Boys' Brigade) and boating.

Keith Lummis, left, is a very well-known Nelsonian, proprietor of Furniture Traders and an antique shop in Hardy Street. His "chief and only clerk" is Sylvia Abbott, who came to Nelson from Liverpool 4 years ago. Keith has two children, a boy and a girl, and his interests include golf, flying, cars and bowls. Sylvia is married and has four children. In her spare time she likes to fish, drive cars and sunbathe.
