New arrivals in Nelson are Mrs Mary Jenkins and five of her 11 children. Four of the other six children are married, and a fifth, John, serving an apprenticeship in Christchurch, is to join the family in Nelson shortly. The other members of the family with Mrs Jenkins here are Gerard, Margaret, Bernard, Mary and Kevin. They're living at 417 Waimea Road.

Promotion is taking Ken Duffy, his wife Ailsa, and family of Frances, Michael, Anne and Mervyn from Nelson. Ken, who is 2IC at John Burns and Co in Nelson, has been appointed warehouse supervisor at the South Island headquarters of the firm, Christchurch.

After 6½ years in NelBon, Sergeant Peter Matheson has been transferred to Picton as officer in charge of the Picton Police station. Peter came to Nelson from Wellington, With him here are his wife Eileen and' boys, Anthony and Mark.
