Rusting away on the Motueka beachfront is the old Janie Seddon, last, and unsuccessfully used by Mr Ivan Tulley of Motueka as a trawler in 1951. The vessel had an interesting history. It was built in 1905 and during the Second World War was used by the Government between Wellington and the quarantine station on Somes Island, and as a minesweeper. It was bought by Mr Tulley after the war for use as a trawler, but she was too big for the job.
