The interior of the home of Mr and Mrs Pat Day, Vanguard Street, was gutted by a fire which broke out shortly after midnight one night last month. The occupants, 17-year-old Margaret Day and her two younger brothers, escaped unharmed. The house is being rebuilt inside.

An earthenwork stage is to be formed in the area in the foreground. This is an ideal site for such outdoor performances and all associated with it are to be commended.
