C. W. I. Service Awards

Four service awards were presented to members of Nelson district Country Women's Institutes when the district officers of the movement met for the annual conference recently. Those honoured were Mrs M. Boyd (Taaman), the retiring secretary (left), Mrs G.Sutton (StokeWakatu), top right, Miss A.Edwards (Stoke-Wakatu), right, and Mrs M. Browne (Motueka), bottom right. A fifth award went to Mrs D.Hore, formerly of Mapua-Mahana, who is now living in Christchurch. Unusual forms of art are displayed (above) by Mesdames L.Limmer, G.Clark and D.Lummis, of the Lower Moutere branch. The picture at left was made from pieces of material and that at right from coloured sand. Both are the work of Mrs R.Best, of Lower Moutere.
