Roving Camera

In one respect we're rather sorry to see so many community-minded citizens are prepared to refurbish our ancient airport terminal. We're frightened they're going to do so good a job (as we're sure they will), that the powers-that-be will delay the building of the new terminal until such time as the old building needs re-furbishing again. The effort of redecorating the interior of the building was organised principally by Mr Peter Harley, president of the Nelson Chamber of Commerce. His proposal, which includes the repainting of the interior, sanding and varnishing of floors and carpeting walkways, met with a ready response from tradesmen approached. We caught these four hard at it one Saturday morning. They are Peter Harley and Graeme Scott (below) and Ken Pope and Kevin Gibbons (above). While the work was being carried out passengers waited outside (above).

Boys will be boys, and here are three who know how to enjoy themselves. We spotted James Lodge and Rex Hebberd having a great time at Monaco one Saturday afternoon.
