Showtime Spectacular 1962

Generally considered to be the best stage show of its type to visit Gisborne in recent years, "Showtime Spectacular '62" presented the country's top entertainers to capacity houses in the Gis-borne Opera House.

Stars of the show were the popular Howard Morrison Quartet, who have recently returned from a season in Australia, and whose vastly improved stage personalities, singing, and general showmanship, would rate them as the most talented performers at present in the Dominion.

During their two-day stay in Gisborne, the show's cast found their leisure hours fully occupied with personal appearances. One such engagement was a lunch-hour appearance at Christies' record retailing department, where they were surrounded by hundreds of their ardent followers, demanding autographs and souvenir pictures for their collections.
