Great Gisborne Crusade

The Great Gisborne Crusade, featuring the famous Maori Evangelist Muri Thompson and his supporting musical cast, met with considerable success when it ran for an eight-day season at the Gisborne Opera House,

Sponsored by the Christian Businessmen's Association and the Gisborne Missionary Association, the crusade created widespread interest in the community, and attracted a large and strong following.

A powerful, dynamic speaker, Muri Thompson converted hundreds of his attentive audiences. On the opposite page is a series of pictures of him speaking from the Opera House stage.
