Our Cover

One of Gisborne's most distinctive buildings is featured on our front cover this issue. It is Ulverstone, the reception centre in Kaiti, which for many years was colloquially known as "Barker's Castle". The picture was taken last spring, shortly after the present owners, Mr and Mrs Wilkins, took possession.

Back Cover. One of Gisborne's loveliest garden settings is the scene for our back cover, on the occasion of a visit by a country women's organisation to the home of Mr and Mrs G. E. Emms, 59 Clifford Street.
