Roller Hockey Triumph

After being runners-up to the New Zealand champions, Petone, for four consecutive years, the Gisborne roller hockey team defeated them by four goals to one in a sizzling final to win the annual Queen's Birthday tournament at Alfred Cox Park.

After the game, the team's supporters ran wild, and swarmed onto the rink to chair them from the scene.
