Girls' High Swimming
Seven records were broken when the Gisborne Girls' High School held their annual swimming sports in bright sunshine at the McRae baths. Star of the day was intermediate champion, Marion Evans, who lowered three of the records in her class.
Two humorous events, a game of "water rugby" and a "swim in your clothes" relay, added a hilarious touch to the lively programme.

"Hold your hat, Henrietta"
A determined effort
Girls participating in the novel relay event were comical sights as they took to the water.
