Orphans' Night Out

The fun was fast and furious when the Gisborne Orphans Club staged its ladies' night in the War Memorial Hall recently. A programme of hits and skits had the audience in fits, and there weren't many Orphans left who hadn't had a turn on stage by the time the night was over. Those who weren't too sore from laughing enjoyed a good supper to conclude a fine evening's entertainment.

Coppers Bob Sloan and Jim Parker caused a guilty stir when they burst into the hall like a raiding police party after hours. After sampling the wares, they sang duets from the stage.
