Young Steeplechasers

Over 600 boys of Gisborne High School took part this year in the annual school steeplechase at the Sponge Bay course.

In the senior division, last year's winner, Ian King, was first home again. The intermediate division was won by Alan Saunders, whose time was 1min 22.2 sec better than that recorded last year. In the juniors, P. S. Heffernan clipped 22.8 sec from last year's winning time.
