Maori v. Pakeha Hockey

Hockey followers had a full afternoon's entertainment recently when the annual Maori v. Pakeha and Town v. (fountry hockey matches were held at the Childers Road Reserve, Played in ideal conditions, with bright sunshine and dry grounds, the games proved to be very popular with both players and spectators alike, and resulted in a win for the pake-has in both the men's and women's matches. The Town v. Country game eventuated in a win for Country.

The men's Pakeha team which defeated the Maoris by 7 goals to 1. They are, standing: A. Coker (umpire), A. Hughes, S. Rosie, R. Kerr, K. Twigley, B. Norris, C. Preddy, and J. Carroll (selector). Kneeling: B. Slade, J. McLean, K. Hughes (capt), J. Carr, D. Burns.
