Intermediate School Steeplechase

Approximately 140 boys competed in the Gisborne Intermediate School's annual steeplechase recently. Held In ideal weather conditions, over the usual course of two and a quarter miles, the race had two sections, junior and senior. Although no records were broken, competition was keen, with some of the young competitors making very determined runs to the tape. Seniors (above) and Juniors (below) racing away from the mass start in Anzac Street.
