Good progress is being made with the construction of the Gisborne-East Coast Y.M.C.A.'s new premises in Childers Road Reserve.

Pine View, in Russell Street, which is to be taken over by the Salvation Army for conversion to a Maori Youth Hostel. The Government has aided the project with a grant of £7500.

The stainless steel flagpole on the new Government Buildings at Gisborne, which was reputed to have cost nearly £1000. As a result of a question in the House from Mrs Tombleson, the cost of the pole has been ascertained as being £405/2/6.

Changing the skyline now in Gladstone Road is the new T. & G. Building on the corner of Grey Street.
