Exciting Go-Kart Racing

Although attendance was small on the Saturday of the Gisborne Go-Kart Club's two-day Queen's Birthday weekend meeting, due to counter-attractions, a big crowd turned out on the Sunday and enjoyed some spectacular racing. Proceeds from the second day were for the Intellectually Handicapped Children.

Thirty-eight karts started in the H.S. Motors Challenge Cup aggregate contest, which was won by Gisborne with 65 points, Wairoa and Opotiki were second equal with 45 points each.
