Last year at the annual Easter golf tournament at Castlecliff, Wanganui, a team from Wairoa met a team from Christchurch. They decided to meet each year at the tournament, and the first of these "blood" matches was held this Easter. A shield was made for this competition by Mr N. Chatfield, of Dannevirke, which Wairoa won. Here are the teams. Back row: The Christchurch team. From left, Ray Ayers, Merv. Coppins, Ross Weavers, Stewart Anderson,Dave Robertson and Bill Henderson. Front row: The Wairoa team. From left, Alan McKinlay, Lochie Harwood, Eddie Webber, Russell Turner, Tom McIntyre.
This four generation picture was taken on Christmas Day at the home of Mrs T. Galloway, Waerenga-a-hika. Standing are Mr A. Pardoe, of Mangakino, and his son, Mr Bob Pardoe, Gisborne. Seated is Mrs Galloway with one of her great-grand-children, Cherry Leigh Pardoe. (Remember our "Smasher No.2" in the January "Photo News" beach shots?)
No name for this beautiful baby.... she's just advertising the Gisborne-East Coast Baby Photo Contest now in its early stages. Prizes, from K.K.K. and Mayfair Studios, total £115, and proceeds are for the Y.M.C.A. Semifinalists will appear in "Photo News" starting next month.
