McGlashen Swimmers

The first swimming carnival of the newly-formed McGlashen Swimming Club was held recently in the McGlashen Pool, Roebuck Road, recently.

"Photo News" took advantage of late afternoon lighting and still water to shoot these unusual pictures of swimmers in action.

The club's president and mentor, Ivan Wilson, entered the open race, but met with some unfair opposition from his offsider, Percy Braithwaite, who was pulled to victory on a rope, only to be disqualified for accepting "outside assistance".
