Te Hapara School Jubilee

Former pupils of the Te Hapara School gathered in their hundreds last weekend for the school's 50th Jubilee celebrations. The weather was perfect, and all enjoyed the comprehensive programme arranged for the occasion.

The celebrations opened with a gathering at the school on Friday afternoon, followed by a ball in the Army Hall at night. Roll call and photographs were on Saturday morning, with sports in the afternoon and a banquet at night. On Sunday a church service was held.

Four pages of pictures are included in this issue of "Photo News", at short notice. Additional pictures will appear next issue.

A surprisingly large number of old pupils from the first decade (1911-20) attended the celebrations...so many, in fact, that they had to be photographed in two sections, with the "boys" in one group and the "girls" in another.

Past and present teachers are featured in this group. In the time available before going to press, it was not possible for "Photo News" to get names for this photo, but if somebody can supply these, we will repeat the picture next issue.
