"Fishbowl" is Popular

A good few gallons of coffee have been drunk since the "Fishbowl" was opened. In fact, if the success of this Young Anglican venture was to be judged entirely by this measure, then indeed it has been a great success. But coffee alone is not the whole story. The "Fishbowl" has been most useful as a focal point in the social life of Young Anglicans and their friends, and to convey something of what this means, our cameras were trained on the scene on several occasions last month, including an evening when Peter Cape, the balladeer, was singing there.

Cosy atmosphere of the "Fishbowl" is captured in this shot of Jock Miller, Gillian Edwards, and Ken Slocombe enjoying tete-a-tete over coffee cups.

Attendance was extended to include older parishioners for Peter Cape's visit.

Title of picture above might well be: "What did the vicar tell Mrs Stevens?" Snap was taken without warning while Mr and Mrs Pearson were enjoying coffee with Mrs R. F. Stevens, whose husband was chief organiser for the Fishbowl project.

Other pictures on this page and upper part of next page show members present on a club night when public is not admitted. Most of those pictured were engaged on renovation work.
