This big box being unloaded at Gisborne from a Union Steamship Company freighter is the latest development in transport for miscellaneous goods. Doors open to reveal a veritable storehouse of goods, which travel free from damage or pillage.

Entertainment team at the Jack Maybury show In the Opera House last week was entitled "The Satins", and like their namesake, they were smooth. They put over popular vocal numbers, received a big hand, and took part in a quiz session which won them a pile of tea and several dozen silk stockings.

Another Gisborne building receives a facelift. This time it is the N.Z. Insurance building in Childers Road, opposite the Gisborne Hotel. Keen students of the Gisborne scene will note that the familiar trees in Chliders Road outside the Poverty Bay Club have been removed.
