"I Capture the Castle"

The presentation of Dodie Smith's play, "I Capture the Castle", based on her own novel, marked another milestone in amateur dramatics in Gisborne. It was the first production of the Gisborne Unity Theatre, which is the fruit of the recent amalgamation of the Repertory Society and the Little Theatre.

Production was by June Irvine, who has a long list of successes to her name.

The leading role was taken with promise and distinction by Robyn Strachan, in her. first major production. She is one of a number of young Gisborne girls who could go far in the world of stage and modelling.
