Unusual sea tree known technically as an "Antipatharian Coral" was brought to surface near Mania by Gisborne trawler and is now a prized exhibit at local museum.
The branches and stem are extremely hard and have the appearance of ebony. Twined in branches are brittle starfish, some of which were disentangled and mounted on board at right.
