Top British Skaters
Gisborne was favoured this month with a visit from Britain's best roller skaters, who in two exhibitions at the rink in Alfred Cox Memorial Park thrilled large audiences.
Photographs taken during a practice at the rink show Syd and Pat Cooper, 1958-59 world champion dance pair, in a couple of graceful shots specially posed for "Photo News" readers.
And this is Maureen Jackson limbering up. Maureen has been six times British freestyle champion.
Danny Kelly, British speed champion and the world's second-fastest man on skates. Danny's in the army, but they gave him leave to make the tour.
