High School Break-up

Hundreds of parents attended the Gisborne Girls' High School break-up ceremony, when a fine display of physical exercises was given by the girls. Opportunity was also taken by parents to inspect the school, and particular interest was taken in the fine display of arts and crafts.

Mrs Cornes, crafts instructor, arranged this display for "Photo News". A notable part of the year's work was the working of bodices for Maori Club members, seen at rear of display. Two hundred girls worked these in cross-stitch tapestry in a term.
