Roving Camera
Our camera has roved a long way into the future for this composite picture showing one of the big Vulcan bombers on Barton Field. Will Gisborne ever see planes like this on the familiar aerodrome here? Well, that's hard to say, but at the present rate of expansion in the air transport industry, who can tell what the future holds?
Two men were killed in a collision at Wainui Beach between these two cars. The accident happened near the Four Square store. Of four persons in the car shown at right, two were killed. They were Mr George Allan Sutton, aged 42, cycle dealer (the driver) and Mr William Gavin Clark, aged 40, railway ganger, both of Gisborne, Two women passengers were injured seriously. The driver of the car shown at left, Mr W. H. Giles, of Wainui, suffered minor injuries.
