Dinner for "Lads and Dads"

The large hall at the Y. M. C. A. presented an animated appearance on a recent Saturday evening when the annual father-and-son dinner was held. The beautifully-prepared tables were literally groaning with good things before the dinner started, but as soon as grace had been sung, young appetites made rapid inroads on the food, and the dads had to eat "hearty" to keep their ends up.

Seated at the head table were Mr R. J. O'Kane, general secretary of the Gisborne Y. M. C. A., and Mr H. A. R. Patterson, the president. Mr 0'Kane will be leaving early next year to take up his new appointment as general secretary of the Christchurch Y. M. C. A.
