More Room for the T. A. B.
Business must be booming for the Totalisator Agency Board in Gisborne. Building work is now proceeding on new premises in Gladstone Road which will give the T. A. B. a handsome new home on the main street with over 4000 sq.ft. of floor space. The new premises should be ready early in the New Year.
A lot of "dough" will be paid into the T. A. B., which in a way is only keeping up the old traditions attached to the site. Here men are demolishing an old oven of Findlay's Bakery, which in its day handled its own variety of "dough".
The new T. A. B. will occupy what was the old Alhambra billiard salon, which in turn was an auction room, and also the adjacent bakehouse of Findlay's. This view shows men working on the Alhambra section of the site.
