A Chief's Daughter is Wed

Paramount chiefs from Rotorua, Wanganui, and Bay of Plenty, and official guests led by the Mayor and Mayoress of Gisborne, Mr and Mrs H. H. Barker, and the acting High Commissioner for India, Mr S. K. Chowdhry, were among the 900 guests who assembled for the wedding of Pari Te Ua, daughter of the leading chief of Ngati-porou, Te Kani te Ua, to Napi Walker, son of Mr D. Walker, of the Awara Tribe, Rotorua. The occasion was favoured with beautiful weather, and the scenes at Holy Trinity Church, and later at Kaiti Pa, where the welcome and reception were held, were notable ones.

Kiri Walker, Rotorua (sister of the groom), and Rereahu Morehu, of Taupo, The bridegroom was attended by Messrs R. Moko, Maketu (best man) and P. te Purei, Bluff, T. Huriwai, and T. Rodgers, Rotorua. Riki Kiri-kiri and Himeuru Jones, Gisborne, were the flower girls.
