Firewood for the Needy

The Gisborne Jaycees have built for themselves an enviable record of community service, and among their recent good deeds was the distribution of free firewood for elderly persons in the city. On a fine Saturday morning, members gathered at Richardson's Mill at Taruheru, which provided slab wood at a reduced rate, and set about the task of cutting and bagging the wood, and making deliveries around town.
