Spectactular Fire

For once "Photo News" was at the fire before it started. We had been taking some pictures at the Parade of Homes, when suddenly, there was a new house on fire over the road.

The fire apparently started in a kitchen cupboard.

In a few minutes smoke was pouring out in billowing black clouds. The fate of the house looked to be doubtful, to say the least.

But with the arrival of the brigade (left) the situation quickly changed.

The brigade smartly ran hoses to the seat of the fire.

In ten minutes the blaze was out.

×
     

The big smoke at its worst.
House was occupied by Mr A. K. Boyce, who had been in residence only two months.
