Hori's Page

These pictures from Hori Karaka Tamihana, Tolaga Bay, recall the days when rowing was a popular sport on the Uawa River.

Note curious members of the feminine sex at left.

Picture was taken in 1912, at Tolaga Bay's Easter rowing regatta. Jas. Thompson (stroke) is standing with back to camera. Seated in the shell are Jack Penfold, Joe Lockwood and Mason Lockwood.
