Search for Yacht

A full-scale air search was instituted this month when the Gisborne yacht Starlight, which set out for Auckland, was not heard of for 14 days. The yacht met head winds and was blown south, eventually being towed into Napier after it was foundfive miles out to sea.

Gisborae's eight-oar crew, which was second in the premier event for the Maadi Cup This was a notable success in the face of stiff competition from much larger schools. King's College was first, and Mt. Albert Gramnar third. Gisbome crew members were P. M. McClutchle, Kerrf P. King, B. Sinclair, R. Poole, K. Watson, R. Crooks, and D. Johnston.
