John White, who won the Townley Cup for the Central School boys' championship at the swimming sports this year, pictured with Mr Matu Rangi, who won the cup 35 years ago-the first Maori to do so. That same year Mr Rangi won the Lysnar Cup for lifesaving, and was also captain of the prefects at the school.
