New Printing Press

The three pictures on this page show the new "Photo News" lithographic printing press during its trial runs, printing portion of this issue.

Until hundreds of adjustments are made during actual running, the best work cannot be expected from any newly-installed printing press, but we are confident that the majority of this issue will reflect the improvement which we expect the new machine to make in the production of high-class pictures.

In charge of the new press is our printer, Mr Don Wilson, who is not shown in these pictures. Also not to be seen here is another member of our staff, Mr C. W. Smith, who is responsible for the top-quality photographic and plate-making work without which good reproductions are not possible.

This is the first large lithographic printing press to be installed in Gisborne.
