The Boxers and the Baby

The Boxer breed of dog has become increasingly popular in Gisborne over the past few years, and this is quite understandable. As puppies the Boxers are lovable little animals. They grow big and robust, develop some of the charming ugliness of bulldogs, yet remain the friendliest of dogs.

These pictures show puppies bred by Mrs C. A. Kerse, Bayly Street, in a little picture play in which they share the starring role with little Lawry Mepham, son of Mr and Mrs E. Mepham, De Lautour Road. The pups were a month old, the baby seven months. Boxers, by the way, are so named because while playing they shape up to each other in realJack Dempsey style.

"Cheer up, Baby! What's the trouble?"

"At least you don't have to lead a dog's life,"

"I'll tell you something confidentially......

"....I'm Hungry."
"You don't say!"

"Hooray; It's mum with my bottle!"
"Sh-sh! Here's someone coming!"

"Say, where's our share?"
