Chinese Wedding

Over 600 guests, many from distant parts of the country, were present when Jean Louie, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Louie, Gladstone Road, was married to Allan Meng Yee, son of Mr and Mrs C. Meng Yee, Clifford Street.

The ceremony was held at the Baptist Church, Palmerston Road, and was conducted by the Rev. Peter Fung, newly appointed Chinese minister at Gisborne.

The bride's attendants were her cousin, Miss Quin Huey, of Gisborne, Miss Moy Ng, Wellington, and the flower girl, Elizabeth Meng Yee. The best man was Mr Allan Moi, Gisborne, and the groomsman was Mr Johnny Mok, Singapore.
